About Us

Take My Hand Uganda is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization, our aim is to provide our children with the necessary support and resources to help them grow into healthy, happy, and productive members of their communities.  We believe that every child deserves a chance to live a life full of hope and promise, and we work tirelessly to make that a reality.

Take My Hand Uganda was founded by Bryan and Julie. in 2014. Bryan and his wife had a goal to expand their family and were led by God to the country of Uganda where they met and later adopted their beautiful daughter. This visit impacted and changed their lives forever. There they met Julie and were introduced to over 40 children who were abandoned when the orphanage housing them suddenly closed.  Together they felt guided to help these children, with whom they had share laughs and food with not many months prior. They set a goal to help these children have a stable place to stay, food for the next several months, and also had hopes of providing them an education; allowing these children to one day thrive.

Bryan and Julie knew they couldn't meet their goals without the help of others.  They were blessed by many individuals who graciously donated funds and also received a generous donation, early in launching the TMHU program, from the company Alteryx. These funds allowed them to build and sustain this program into what it is today- a sponsor driven, non-profit organization supporting these children with housing, food, and education.  The projects and donations have also greatly supported the community around them.  In 2016, a home was built for the children's care givers who help house them while on breaks.  In 2018, a deep water well was dug on the property to provide clean, reliable water to not only these children, but the  entire surrounding community.  In 2019, money was raised via fundraiser and a new toilet and shower were built to provide a more sanitary environment. In 2023 and 2024, we completed a kitchen renovation and our operation sleep project. In January 2024 we launched our Higher Education Initiative. Over the years, this program has grown, but our commitment to helping these children remains unchanged

We believe that every child has the potential to succeed, and we are committed to helping them do so. By providing them with the tools and resources they need to thrive, we empower them to define their own future and change the world.
